I’m looking for a nice dial for my Northern Electric Baby Champ. It is burgundy in color. Some paint got lifted off mine when super glue accidentally wound up on the face. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for looking!

    Hi Eric,

here is a site that provides you with the scans of all the Baby Champ dials. You can just download the one you need and print it (photo quality) on sticker paper(available at Staples) and then apply it to your dial. You won’t see the difference. And if you’re good with Photoshop or the likes, use the vector file for a cleaner result.

    Good luck.

    My apologies Eric,

I should have looked better at the scans. I downloaded one for a 5002 that was nice but I see that some are awfull. So you will have to work on the JPEG or use the vector file. It might also be better to scan yours and correct the flaws.

    Thanks, Jean,
It never occurred to me to scan the dial, which is in perfect shape except for the missing paint near the pilot light bracket. I will try to get my MacBook Pro to “touch up” the area where the paint is gone.

Eric, I went to the OVRC (Ottawa) auction today and I bought a BBchamp with a bad housing for cheap. I need only the knobs. It seems to have the same dial you need. I will take the guts out tomorrow, see what the dial looks like and come back to you.

    Jean,
If the dial looks good, I would be happy to buy it.
My Baby Champ has amazing sensitivity for a five-tuber. During the daylight hours I pick up stations from across northern Wyoming and southern Montana. Not that there’s anything worth listening to… It’s all bad country music or political talkity-talk-talk.
AM broadcasting here in the States is a vast wasteland — especially if one lives in the “sticks” as I do.
Most other AA-5’s in my collection can pick up the two local stations and that’s it.
    Best wishes,
    Eric

Eric, the dial looks very good. Here is a photo of it taken at an angle to avoid flash reflection. It is yours for 10$ plus actual cost of shipping. I will of course need your address to determine the cost. You can send the info to my email:
