    looking for one copper mershon cap, 1″ 3/8 across, if anyone can help me out here would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Darren,

    I have one such beast in my hand. It’s 1 3/8 across, 4 1/8 tall and on the top it says 6 MFD/928/H101. It tests open but I don’t think that’s important. I would let it go for only one million dollar (shipping included). But if you happen to have brown knobs for a Rainbow Baby Champ (2 or better 3) I might reconsider. Your deal.

    Is it my sense of humour that did not go through ? The million dollar was just a symbolic amount. I will need your address if you want me to ship the condenser. I don’t need or want money. I have the part and I don’t need it. You need the part and you don’t have. Let’s fix this.

    Sorry Jean.. i just logged into the forum now …as far as the cap goes i no longer need one, wish i could help you out with the ne rainbow knobs but i can’t find any in my stash.

    You might know already but I think the NE rainbows had the brown knobs if they were not painted, and white knobs if they are painted. so if you paint it look for white knobs. there are lots of examples floating around of this radio and i have a few but maybe not spare knobs? I even have the base and sub stations as some were actually not a radio but the intercom, and it shared the same case but had a paddle switch to talk. was there a 3 knob version of this radio as well?
    some of the NE radios had a pointer that looks like a little propeller. I think I have a stash of these little propellers and as well some of the orange pointers that went on the NE baby champ. I want a million dollars each but if you buy multiples I’ll give a 20 % discount this week only 😉

    I have four unpainted rainbows. A 5000 with brown knobs, a B4000 with brown knobs, a 5110 with brown knobs (the 5110 was never sold unpainted so this not original) and a 5002 with white knobs (looks terrific but not original again). I also have three more empty cabinets and 2 or 3 chassis in a box. The plan is to paint one of the spare cabinet with the original cream white for the 5110 and use white knobs (I have a few spares left). The 2 brown knobs will then go on the 5002 but I still miss one. I thought I was good at mathematics but those babychamps knobs got me.

    As per the original thread…..I am still looking for 1 Mershon capacitor….any help would be appreciated.
