I have a number of old tubes and would like to know the following.
If the Base of a Tube is loose is it any good. Thanks.

The answer is ‘quite possibly’… In many cases only the bakelite base has loosened on the glass envelope and the wires connecting the pins in the base to the tube elements are still intact. In this case, the base can be re-attached using super-glue or epoxy and will still work. If in doubt, glue them and test/try them out.
