I have a 12q7gt that tests around 70 percent on my tc2 heathkit tester.

    Les,
I am puzzled why you would need to rewire the socket to go from a 12B6 to a 12Q7.

They have the same basing diagram.
Is the 12B6 one of those special Rogers tubes ?

Hi John. I’m basing this on advise on the radiomuseum site where it says “Particular Rogers type. In a GE list of equivalents it should be replaceable by 12Q7, but that is not correct, since base and wiring must be changed. ” Source: https://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_12b6.html
