Measured some voltages to see how this design performs…I also found one of my old 500 telephone sets and yes it has the same coil inside that Ed was referring to ( thanks Ed ). I will put this coil in and it should give me about twice the volume I have now so that is even better! I have enclosed a few photos and the schematic for now…this is a design in progress and I will be tweaking/optimizing values going forward.

Oops…forgot to show the extra 8 ohm resistor in series with the first tube filament…

Just installed the bell ringer coil assembly from one of my old 500 telephone sets…works quite well and I will be putting it in an old plastic coil form I had kicking around so it will somewhat match the other AK inter stage transformer I am using in the previous stage.

Next steps are to put all of this in the recently refinished Eveready radio case and add an LED dial lamp behind the main tuning dial where the previous dial scale used to be. I will also update the schematic…

All done for now…just have to cut off the shaft of the regen control and install the wooden knobs etc…updated schematic is attached. In summary this is basically a radio with an Armstrong Regen front end and an Atwater Kent model 33 AF output stage..works quite well and has good volume.

I will probably do another one soon using some of the many 1H4G tubes I have kicking around…
