Forum ParticipantI found this chassis recently at the World Serve Thrift store in White Rock (stored in the back room, I had to ask to see it). They wanted $30. Thought I’d post it if anyone was interested in it for parts, etc.
See attached photos.

Forum ParticipantRick,
A friend who lives in Surrey is driving to White Rock to visit his grandson.
I will try to contact the store to see if the chassis is still there, (and
possibly the speaker). This may be on Friday 26 Feb 2016. He may buy it,
and store it until his next trip to Powell River.

Forum ParticipantRick,
Today friends purchased the Rodgers/Deforest radio and the cabinet from the World Serve
thrift shop in White Rock. There was a twist to the story. The radio was on display in the store,
assembled, but a tube was stolen while there. So they removed the chassis to the back of the store.
When the set was bought, it came with a bag of the knobs, and one tube. Perhaps the bolts are
in there too. It will some time before the radio migrates to Powell River. Apparently the speaker
was not with it. The power cord had been cut off too.
Now the World Serve , in White Rock has another customer. While there, some other items of interest
were found.February 27, 2016 at 7:08 am #7448Dan Walker
CVRS MemberI have worked on several Rogers sets. Those knobs are the kind that disintegrate on their own. for some reason some of them are real good and others seem to shrivel and dry up. I hope you have all the knobs.
It should sound good once the caps are replaced.. Post a photo of the cabinet, I would like to see it.
I do like those Rogers radios.February 27, 2016 at 7:41 am #7449Steve Dow
Forum ParticipantRCC sheet 59 has the topology matching the set, and the missing tubes are 2X3s.
A photo of the cabinet might arrive in a few days. I’ll phone the store again today
to find out if they know if it came in with a speaker.Preliminary information was that this radio was one of three in a lot.
The prime action was to retrieve the chassis, and view the cabinet. But
the condition was found to be exceptional, so my friends purchased it.February 27, 2016 at 1:42 pm #7450Steve Dow

Forum ParticipantGlad you liked it. It did have some of the knobs for sure. There were loose tubes with it, too.

Forum ParticipantThe speaker is an issue. The resistance of the field is low because it in negative
side. The speaker baffle may have been removed and the grill cloth changed. Some screws
are missing. Others appear to be new. Radio may arrive in a month or two.June 2, 2016 at 12:30 am #7823Steve Dow
Forum ParticipantThe radio has at last arrived. It is here now. Chassis, Cabinet, and Loose) two knobs, and a single 2X3
with a broken key. The grill cloth was expertly replaced. The chassis might have worked, yet to test.About 3 months and some significant money carried it here.
The 2X3 tests good despite missing key. I am sure there are some 2X3s here, so that issue is OK.
I’ll not mod it for FW rect.
The chassis has a replacement IF transformer, a Meissner 16-6666. But I have another chassis
similar. Still no speaker, so a RCA 12″ ED /OPT will be used for now, with an adapter network.I will post photos when the chassis is opened.

CVRS MemberI have just recapped a Rogers model 9M1091,which is basically the same model.
I had to rebuild the band indicator with a ribbon It took quite a while but it works very well.
Mine didn’t come with a speaker, but I found one.
If you would like to email me I can let you know what I did to fix the band indicator.. I see it in your photos and it is pretty much dilapidated.Attachments:
