Hello friends, Frederick Taylor here from Garland Texas. Thank you all for accepting my membership here. I have been a big contributor to the Antique radio forum here in the states. My specialty is cabinet repair and lacquer finishing, I have repaired and refinished 100,s of radio cabinets for collectors around the United States .I was hired to restore a 1937 Rodgers Majestic model 10-12 from a customer in Canada. The cabinet was unfortunately turned into into a liquor cabinet not long ago, all the guts are gone except the clock , knobs and dial scale. With much tedious work I have gotten it back to what it once was, the owner would like to find the chassis/amp and speaker if possible, in the mean tim it will look like a complete radio when finished and the guts wil slid right in once located. In the mean time I am almost finished with the cabinet, a fresh new custom lacquer finish is done and will post pictures of it perhaps tomorrow or next week. Here is some pictures of before and work in progress . New crotch walnut was installed on the top in a factory book matched pattern, along with the upper L&R shoulders, that was done using figured ribbon Mahogany as requested by the owner, also a few areas along the bottom base structure using figured walnut , all just like factory. The hardest part was getting the entire from control panel/ speaker assembly back in place to look like nothing has ever happened. The entire cabinet was takin apart for this job, the cabinet was very shaky and unstable anyway. It’s solid once again, all my wood repairs and veneering using hot hide glue which dries rock hard, it’s a must when installing new raw unbacked wood veneer.. Thanks for looking.

Completed a full repair and restoration on this Rodgers Majestic 10-12 cabinet. It was re-purposed a while back into a liquor cabinet, that should have never ever been done. It took me around 85 or so hours to get it back the way it was originally, a custom lacquer finish was sprayed on using grain filler, sanding sealer and 7 coats of a non pre catalyzed lacquer made from Gemini coatings. The chassis and speaker with amp are missing , please help me find the guts. A radio cabinet now once again not a liquor cabinet . Make it great again as Trump says. Thanks for looking.
