Tagged: Better Red than Dead
This radio was a goner as it fell from 3 feet and one whole corner broke off front to back. It still played so I put it aside until this week. Got it up and running and since the repair would be obvious, I decided to paint it. I filled the crack completely with JB Weld after Crazy gluing it back together and slowly sanded it flush, primed it, sanded again and sprayed it inside and out with 1968 Buick Wildcat 430 high heat Red engine paint . Still working on the knobs and Philco Transitone decals ordered just for fun.
My wife loves the way it turned out and wants me to add bluetooth and keep it. Who says you can’t have fun with a junked radio.
Knobs are red now. Looks better.
Great job , looks perfect.
