Hi Gary, In that case I would be happy to get it. I may be tied up on Christmas day depending on the time you arrive. I live on the east side of Calgary near Chestermere so it wouldn’t matter much if I have to take a drive out to Duchess in the event I can’t meet you at the airport. I hope they still have it. Thanks, SteveDecember 3, 2018 at 10:36 am #10742
Hi Gary, If it is still available I would like to get it. I live in Chestermere but might be tied up part of Christmas day so if I cannot meet you at the airport it would not be that far to go to pick it up. I have to go to Tabor possibly on the 29th and would come right past Brooks so not much of a detour.December 3, 2018 at 10:45 am #10743

Steve, I just got home from picking up the radio: No disappointments! Cabinet is an easy restore and all the knobs are present. I asked if it worked and she said ‘Bien sur!’ Translation: Absolutely!
That was a surprise, as most vendors would have mentioned that it works. I was surprised by the size and weight of the thing! For some reason, from the pic you posted of yours, I thought it that it was much smaller. I plug it in and yes, it actually works with only a slight buzz and pulls in (at least AM quite well. I can leave it at my sister in laws place in Duchess or you could pick it up at any point while i’m there. let me know. There is an interesting era correct modification on the rear involving old wax capacitors, a toggle and a coax. radio works on either position of the switch. A mystery for you to solve. Here are some pics…

Hi Steve, Inquiring minds want to know! Did the Philco still work after bouncing around in a plane and the trunk of the car? If not, you should have enough parts to resurrect one radio from the 2.
