This is an old Canadian Marconi Company / Recordio CMCB60 tabletop multi-band radio with record player and record cutter. Old radios were a passion of my youth, but I don’t have the time nor the inclination any more. This radio was given to me by my grandfather in about 1975, and I got it “just barely” got it working. I got busy with something else and forgot all about it.
This unit has a phonograph on top, with two phonograph arms. One is a recording arm, so you can record your own records! I’ve been told that my grandfather used it to record radio shows, local events, etc. The second arm is a playback arm, which allows you to play back your own records or pre-recorded ones.
It also has that neat “tuning eye” tube in the middle of the dial.
When I took it apart in the ’70s, I set aside the screws & bolts that hold the chassis to the cabinet, and now they are lost. They shouldn’t be too difficult to replace.
The radio is in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If you are at all interested, make me an offer. I’m motivated to sell!
