Mercury Super 10 Project – Help Needed!

Alain Charette of the SQCRA and OVRC is currently conducting extensive research on the H.M.Kipp Company, with a primary focus on its Mercury Super Ten receiver (company history, the Kipp and Lowry family genealogy, newspaper articles, documents, photographs, advertisements, etc.). Alain’s goal is to continue the research originally undertaken by Bob Murray. At present, he is documenting all of the design and production changes that Kipp made to the Mercury receiver over the course of its manufacturing.
To do this, Alain needs to identify surviving receivers and compare them using their serial numbers. To date, he has catalogued approximately fifty surviving sets and has already identified several production changes. For example, at serial number 2800, Kipp changed the variable capacitors, discontinued the
silk-screened front panel, and began using a plywood chassis support. Receivers with serial numbers above 9000 feature a wood-grain finish on the front panel.
Alain has a general understanding of other production changes, but determining exactly when they occurred will depend on compiling a more complete inventory of surviving receivers.
Do you have one or more Mercury Super Ten receivers, or do you know of any collectors who own a Mercury Super Ten and who might be willing to assist Alain with his research?
For each receiver, Alain needs two photographs: one with the cabinet closed, showing the front of the receiver, and another with the cabinet open, showing the complete interior, including the serial number.
Alain’s ultimate goal is to compile all of this information and documentation into a publication that will be made available to Canadian radio collectors.
