I picked up this model a few weeks ago from a fellow who was going to get into radios years ago, but never did have the time
The chassis was not too much of a challenge, and it plays good.
I did the cabinet in the original colors, which turned out quite good,so I thought you guys might like to see it.

I just picked up this Philco model 90. It has 9 tubes , and the cabinet is in pretty good condition.
I think it has some of the capacitor blocks but I have not taken the chassis out of the cabinet yet.

    Hi Dan,
The Philco 90 looks like a good project. I have one I bought many years ago in Portland Oregon – it had won first prize in a vintage radio competition in New England at some point as I was given the rosette with the radio. It worked when I got it, but I never actually looked under the chassis – I should get around to it someday soon! My other ‘large’ Philco is a 16B, bought in an antique mall in Snohomish, Washington. I did a full restoration job on that one though, including re-stuffing all the Bakelite caps – quite an amazing radio! Some photos of each attached. Looks like your Philco 90 has a different chassis version to the one I have.

Gerry, I think that the chassis are the same except mine has a metal divider on the right between the two front and middle tubes.
Everything else looks like it is the same, at least to me.
According to the Philco phorum there were a couple of models of this radio, but the difference was in the bottom molding on the cabinets.
