    Hello!

Yet another newbie here. And I was going to ask about a certain unknown radio in an antique store I found. Which a few people here already know about. But nothing has become of it. Why? Well mainly because I found something else that is very nice too, and it’s a known one! But I will have to wait till’ this friday to get my paws on it. Then I’ll be back! (with probably a 100 questions about it……..and fighting the atomic urge not to turn the thing on until I get it checked for newer capacitors) 😀

Thank you Gerry. And no problems as of yet but…….I’m wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. Because the radio (my first), that I just picked up today, is a G.E. K-80 😯 . And I have no idea if the capacitors have been replaced etc. Yes, it works, but I’ve read some scary things about restoring the chassis. The cabinet is in good shape. But I’m wondering what to do about getting the radio checked out. If it goes on me I’m afraid I could be in for some major costs. I just really wish I knew that before I put the $80 down on it nine days ago. I think I would have chosen something else. The total price was $200. From a local guy named Rudy.

Thanks Gerry, I’ve only been keeping it on for about 10 minutes at a time. Not putting the volume up either. And the cabinet is in good shape, as well as cloth. I’m keeping it at my girlfriends on PoCo…..nice and close for when I can find the time to go up to SPARC. And less tempted to turn it on because I’m not always there.
