Hi All,

I have a Sparton “Econ-O-Miser” portable radio for sale $best offer + shipping from Kitchener Ontario. Includes cardboard wrapped square battery. Don’t know much about except I’ve never seen another. Probably one of the first portable radios. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi rob, There is no price shown for the set you’ve advertised, please take the time to have a look at the rules for posting in this forum. The rules are set out in the first post of this forum and clearly state to post your asking price , as it isn’t an auction site.

On a more positive note, welcome to the CVRS and I hope you enjoy the site and please DO use the forum and the for sale section. I haven’t seen this radio before. Perhaps if you post the tube numbers, model number or any other info it might help others might be able to comment on it’s approximate age. I do have some zenith radios (not transocianics) and they are probably my oldest portables. One has a soft case like that with a plaid pattern and I can just see it being part of a California beach surfing scene.
