I just acquired this Deforest Crosley, but can’t determine the model. I’ve been through the radiomuseum.org site and the pacifictv.ca site and can’t find anything similar. The tubes as listed on a sticker inside the cabinet are:

    • 58
    • 58
    • 224A
    • 224A
    • 227A
    • 227A
    • 247
    • 247
    • 280

Stamped into the chassis, very faintly, is the following:

    • Patent 1924-1932
    • Hazeltine
    • Volts 115 Watts 108
    • Cycles 25
    • Type 851 F
    • 8512419
    • I would be very grateful for any assistance in identifying this radio so I can eventually get around to restoring it.

The 851 is probably the chassis number. The letters may be the cabinet type. Try RCC DeForest Crosley page 22 for the York or Mayfair.

Thank you Ed. The schematic for the York/Mayfair seems to be right on.

Hello Les; I do have the schematic for that radio from the RCC book.
If you don’t have the schematics I can send it to you in a PDF format by email.
Send me a message and we can go from there.

I have the same radio and I used the schematics for the Encore model 500.Mine has a 500 stamped in black lettering on the front of the chassis.

Thanks for the offer of the schematic Dan. I found it online at Nostalgia Air.
