In responding to the topic Organizational Vision posted in Feedback and Opinions, CVRS Member Murray Dickerson wrote, “We need a separate designated special page for Opinions on this website that allows questions and controversial ideas to be discussed, like this topic. Burying this in the Forum page is inadequate. The Forum is more a bulletin board for members to trade ideas and ask questions about restoration projects, which is very good for that purpose. This material is too important to slide under another venue, it needs to stand on its own.”

This statement raises a number of important questions:

Where do you have “discussion” if not in a forum? Isn’t discussion what a forum is for?

Logistically, is there a way to allow for “discussion” on a website outside a forum?

Are CVRS Forum posts “buried”, not readily seen by members?

Is the CVRS Forum just “a bulletin board for members to trade ideas and ask questions about restoration projects”?

    And, lastly:

Do we need a separate opinion page? If so, it would require an administrator to post items (like the Op/Ed Page editor on a newspaper). What kind of content would be posted to it?

Each one of these is easily a separate topic, but we’ll post them together here, at least for now.
