Thanks, Because of all the snow,I only got it last night
I opened it up and had a peek and it’s a flawless shiny chassis! Even the line cord is flexible. All the tubes are Emerson. Plays with a big buzz, so here is the question; do I have to “stuff” the capacitors to maintain the originality? Or does it really matter . Others seem to go for close to $200. so although I didn’t buy it to sell, I don’t want to screw up a pristine example. Advice please.

The caps are all under the chassis. I would not restuff unless it goes to a restauration contest or there is no room under the chassis for new electrolytics.I would also change all paper condensers. I am currently working on an Emerson 108 converting the circuit to 150 ma tubes. Won’t look original at all but it’s a hell of a challenge.I love these little Emerson.

Thank you Jean for your advice. I will go ahead and recap it and save the old parts if someone wants to make it look original. I just discovered the Emerson by
Accident and love it. My wife has even let it live in the Living room!
