Clairtone

Looking for information on Clairtone TC-10 chassis, specifically the preamp that may have been an outboard option that allowed the use of a magnetic cartridge. The Clairtone website is very thin on technical info. Has anyone measured the input sensitivity for the chassis phono input ? Sams Photofac has schematic for the TC-4 which is similar, but no specs.

Is the schematic of any use to you? I found it on the Clairtone site. I remember losing my shirt when I bought a bunch of their penny stocks in the 70’s when the Nova Scotia Government took them over. https://www.clairtone.ca/T9_T10.zip. I owned a Clairtone stereo console chassis that I picked up at the firesale when they went bust. Don’t recall if it had magnetic phono in put or not.

Hello Frank – sorry for tardy response – many thanks for the schematic, didn’t realize it was done up by SAMS. Was able to get the chassis working without schematic but will be very good to have as there seem to be a few of these chassis still around. There is a book out called “the art of Clairtone” about their history- which sounds like you had an negative experience with.
