I have a Rogers 8R662 battery set of 1938 vintage that I am preserving for exhibition. I have the schematic via radiomuseum.org It has 5 of the original 6 Rogers valves… All test good. What I have not been able to find on-line is any scans of Rogers product literature circa 1937-40. Magazine adverts, brochures, marketing campaign literature, etc. Things that would help to place this artifact in historical context. Have there been any detailed histories of the company operation in the 1930s? Google searches are showing virtually nothing.

It looks like this set ought to have been regarded as a very good performing battery powered set.

    Comments appreciated.

Yes indeed….. Unfortunately only crickets so far….. I’m just in the process of sending a query to the Hammond Museum. Some years ago they provided some history and a great photo regarding the Mercury Super 10. Any other potential resources would be very much appreciated. Always want to put my exhibited items in historical context.

    Hi Robert

I have a book, and have read it, called “Radio Wizard” Edward Samuel Rogers and the Revolution of Communications; Rogers and the Revolution of Communications. by Ian A. Anthony

I think this would give you all the information you are looking for as it starts in 1900 with Edward Samuel Rogers when he was born.

The book is available on ABE Books for $ 9.59. This is the web site. If the link does not work you will have to copy and paste it in your browser.
