It is identified as a United Motors Inc. of Detroit Michigan
    Delco 1108 radio.
As for the cabinet, the panel the radio sits behind, is it missing veneer or has been replaced by another piece of wood over the years.

A friend of mine in Okotoks Alberta ended up with it and asked me if I wanted the chassis before it goes out to the dump. I told him to hang tough for a bit and hopefully find out more about it. He acquired it from a collector who while in his 40’s had a severe stroke and is now 70 and doesn’t work on them anymore. I will get more pictures of it and if the cabinet is not worth restoration, perhaps I will get the chassis and speaker and of course items like those power transformers and coil speakers are not as common as they used to be. If anybody has a picture or a link showing what that radio used to look like, please provide it. My guesstimate is its late 1930’s perhaps early 1940’s
