If you have the original transformers Hammond makes a 124C coil that can be put on the steel inside the transformer shell.
Also they have a whole transformer refill with steel and terminal board at a higher price.
Many thanks Ed. At least I have an option if I can’t get the original parts. The Westinghouse RC is my SQCRA restoration contest radio so I try to get the original parts. If I can’t get the real thing I will probably go for the Radiola III replacement. With a bit of imagination I might be able to make them look old.
Both those suggestions fit inside the original outer cover of the transformer. The outside appearance and shell would be original, the insides new and hidden.
In the Radiola III the transfos are encased but in the Westinghouse RC (RA/DA) the coils and iron are visible. That is my problem. If I use new parts I will need to make them look old. Whatever the outcome I will post pictures of the final result (or failure…).
Here is the final result. Since I had no reply for originals and time is not my luxury I finally got two 124C coils. After sanding the very rusty 29 steel plates of the transformers (29 X 2 sides X2 transformers = 116 sides) and coating them with lacquer (on one side only) Here they are.
