A very nice marconi

This is a Marconi model 117 and it is in very very good condition.I just bought it today.
It is like new except for the small tear in the grill cloth
It is the third one of these I have owned, but I believe I am keeping this one.

I now have this Marconi up and running very good. Someone had soldered in two AA batteries for the bias cells, so I replaced
them with 1.5 volt watch batteries. I had to rearrange some of the caps as the previous worked did not shorten the leads of the yellow
caps and he didn’t put shrink tubing on any of them.
I got it all fixed but the alignment was a chore .
1500 came in good , but 600 was really bad. They had screwed down the adjustment pot tight .
But now it plays very good.
