Hi, Id like to post some pics of a 1927-28 Philmore crystal radio set made in New York. I dont know anything about radios as this was my Dads from his radio days, but Im curious to know if anyone has seen one of these sets or happens to have one? I think Im right when I say the manufacture time frame would be the late 20s.This one has survived in it`s original box, you just have to love the colours they used on the box print back in the day. Sorry the pics are side ways as I didn’t know how to correct this. Thanks.

That is amazing to have survived all this time. Your Dad must have taken great pride in his collecting and work. Never ever seen anything like that radio before.

You are right on with the date Wayne. Philmore made a lot of their stuff right into the early fifties. They made this set in several different colours. The set is quite common but the box certainly makes it. Stuart.

Thanks Stuart, I researched it many years ago and thought the date was correct. Also thanks for the info as I think the box is the rare item here.

Thanks Sterling, my Dad was never really a collector but he sure loved to tinker with radios having built his first one at the age of 15 in 1922.
