I have been a member of CVRS for almost a year now and the schematic sevice has been well worth the membership fee!

I have repaired a fair number of old tube radios but my true love is tube stereo amps. My latest creation is a 01a/71a/813 power amp. The only problem is that I don’t have any 01a tubes. 12a’s would work as well. I am always on the look out for old triodes…

I also have some old radios that I would be willing to trade. I have an assortment of lens from old radios, some old chassis without cases, a bunch of stuff that I will likely never repair or rebuild.

    Hi Stefan,

Interesting amplifier project you have there. I bought some used/tested 01A’s from George Fathauer down in Arizona a few years ago for $10 each but I understand that he sold the business last year. These tubes are available from a wide range of sources on the internet though, however NOS ones can be expensive (eg. almost US$60 at AES) – a bit much to deck-out your average mid-1920’s 5 tube TRF… If you find a low-cost source let me know!
