I’m Nancy Gallagher from Abbotsford, BC. I saw a spectacular Viking console in a thrift shop and fell in love. I know nothing about vintage radios but would love to learn more about this one and find out if someone might be able to restore the radio.
Don kindly identified it as a 1948 Viking from these numbers which are stamped and written on the back. There are no tags

The cabinet is a beautiful burled walnut and is in excellent condition except for the knobs which are well worn and loose.
( the photo does not do it justice!)Plugging it in only produces a hum.
I have never seen a cabinet like this and love the elegant design- especially the bands and circles on the bottom half.
