I have just began working on another Canadian battery set – a Marconi 212. Collaboration with Félix-Antoine Gravel dates this set to the 1941 – 1942 time frame, likely among the last civilian sets manufactured prior to Marconi’s conversion to wartime production.
I continue to be amazed by the performance of these 4-tube battery sets. It seems by comparison that these far outperform a typical AA5 set. Perhaps the 1.5v tubes offer greater performance?
This is my fifth Canadian battery set in my collection. Not too bad, I suppose, for living in Utah. 🙂
