    Hi all,

I would appreciate any ideas on where I might purchase some 10BQ5 tubes.
I have only bought tubes from Pacific, but they do not have any 10BQ5’s .

    Thanks.

Hello John, I know you posted (in Canada) but I don’t know if you’ll find any.

    3 vendors in the US:
Jim Cross, Vacuum Tubes Inc, in Florida, has only one 10BQ5 for the reasonable price of $6.00 USD. I have dealt with him and he is topnotch and an authority happy to share his knowledge, also you can top-up a small order with caps and resistors.

Bob Dobush, company name FindATube lists them New for $7.00, Used $3.00 USD, but he doesn’t always have every tube that is on his list.

This vendor, World Tube Company, I’ve never tried him, has one NOS for $4.50. https://www.worldtubecompany.com, says ask, may have tubes in crates not in inventory.

Another US company Elliot Electronic Supply, shows that they have at least 3 for $6 each, but then I ran that number up to 53 and they all went into the cart, so the actual quantity could well be zero. anyway, happy hunting!

    Thanks

I also found some at Antique Parts for $7.60 US.
At one time they were called “Tubes and more”.

I am still putting together a parts list.
I have a couple of output transformers designed fo a single ended application as well as an assortment of power transformers.

Tubes are on the list but I will probably have to pay twice as much as posted to get them to me in St. John’s, NL.

    Again, many thanks.

Right, Antique Electronic Supply, they used to be reasonable but when they started focusing on guitar amp supplies, prices went way up.
Lucky for you, the tubes you seek are in low demand. Low supply too. [:(]

    You might
ji for Toronto and southern Ontario tube vendors.

Actually if you have a 10 volt supply for a pair of 10BQ5s, you could have a look at the 5V6GT. You could run the heater filaments in series on 10 volts. They would draw only 0.6 amps, are available and cheap. But you do lose a Watt in power.
