I am contemplating the purchase of the radio pictured below. It is a Canadian General Electric Model A-108 and is the same as the RCA C11-1 console of that year. The shutter dial mechanism looks complicated, but neat. Anything to look out for on this 10 tube monster? It’s a working condition, unrestored original chassis and cabinet. I find out later today if it’s still available.

You might want to check out this link, from the guys that owned them.
I have the red book if you need the schematics.
It sound like it would be a good one to own.

Not much. Have several tubes and more caps on the way, still have the second Philco that had the severed tuning arm to figure out. The Hudson bay Dictator is also waiting for a tube. Just bought a pair of ols ESM 3 speakers for 10 bucks that will need the woofers refoamed. The refoaming kits are cheap, so for $50. I should have a good set of extra speakers.
