I bought this rogers 10-85 last fall , and I finally found some matched veneer to do the top.
I removed what was left of the old top by heating it with an iron and using a putty knife.
I placed a piece of cloth between the iron and the top, so the heated lacquer would not stick to the iron.
After I sanded the top I taped off the areas, and applied tite bond glue to the veneer and the cabinet with a small roller.
After letting it dry I placed the veneer in place and ironed it on.
.
There were a couple of places where the veneer split and I had to put on a thin patch of new veneer.
All in All it turned out quite well.
Now it is ready for the stripping of the cabinet. and refinishing.

I finally got this cabinet finished, and all that is left is putting on the grill cloth, and installing the chassis.
Here are some photos.
