Hello to all,
I dont know if these small ephemera radio items will be of interest to any of you, but I thought Id post some pics just in case they are to some. These radio ink blotters are from the days my Dad was in the radio sales business back in the 20s and 30s.They have survived very well and are a part of the Canadian radio history from that time period. I love the” radio slogan captions” below each illustrated cartoon and the colours have remained bright and vibrant after all these years. I hope they will bring a smile to some of you…
Hi Sterling, im unable to pm you as Im not a cvrs member. Sorry these are not for sale as they carry a lot of sentimental value being that they were my fathers. Hope you`ll understand and thanks again for your interest.
Wayne
Hey Wayne, thanks for posting. Great to see local advertising. I am quite familiar with St Mary’s as I have always lived in the area. Just north of the Canadian Tire? Thanks, Stuart.
Amazing coincidence here Stuart as my Dad was a ham wave radio operator and one of the first in St.Marys. He built his first radio at the age of 15 in 1922 and in 1930 he broadcasted from the first house just north of the Canadian Tire store in St.Marys. It`s a yellow brick home just across the parking lot from CT. Always good to hear from a Stonetown boy and thanks for chiming in on this.
