Forum ParticipantI just picked up a NordMende C-138 Electra radio. (Late 50s or early 60s) This radio, overall was in good physical condition. And other than the speaker wires were off (which I quickly repaired) the radio worked just fine. However during the cleaning process, somehow a third speaker wire which I had not noticed, was also hanging loose. I pulled the Power Output tube to clean it up, and while replacing it, the bare end of this third wire, somehow got tangled up with the pins of the tube. A little smoke was the first signal that there was something amis. Anyway I badly burned a resistor and will have to replace it, but I do not know the value of this resistor. I badly need a schematic to get this thing up and running again. If anyone can help find the schematic I would be very gratefull. I also need a complete set of Knobs for this thing.
I will post a picture of the radio and the knobs later.
Regards

CVRS MemberThe schematic seems to be on the radiomuseum site.
Good luck with your repair.

Forum ParticipantHello Again John.
Yes, I think Radio Museum Site may have it. However I’v tried about 3 or 4 times to sign up with them, but for whatever reason I have not been succesful, seemingly because of some technial problem on their end. I tried connecting with them, but they did not respond. However I will try my luck again,on becoming a member. One of the problems I have had with this radio when searching on-line is that NordMende has about some seventy different sets using the Electra model name???? On my part, it may just be my bad luck. I once had a Buick Electra which I had wrote off. Got T-Boned at an intersection. No Luck with Electras at all, Cars or Radios. Yes, I will give Radio Museum another try.
ThanksRalph

CVRS MemberYou do not have to become a member.
There is a way to get a schematic from them.
The instructions are on their site somewhere as I have done it unless they stopped it.June 9, 2022 at 6:04 am #18657Ralph Spracklin
Forum ParticipantHey John and All
As to the Radio Museum site, if there is a way to have access to schematics in general, I have not been able to find it, or for that matter an access to a list of schematics available. I find this site hard to navigate. It is not a user friendly Site. It seems that to become a member of Radio Museum is not an easy process. I am not trying to join the United Nations or NATO, I just want access to info regarding my Hobby of Radio Restoration, as well as to help others, when I can. Does anyone else seem to have the same problems that I run into, or is it just me???

Forum ParticipantThanks John
While this Schematic only showed about two thirds of the Radio Circuit, I was able to find the value of the resistor in questio. (1K ohms)
Thanks! You are a lifesaver on this one.Ralph

CVRS MemberAnyway, here is the other half.
I did not realize that they cut the schematic in half.
At least you will have it all if you need it. -
