FOR SALE – RCA Model 816K Superheterodyne Tube Console Shortwave Radio

Asking for $375 or best offer for RCA 816K console radio. I had purchased this radio few years ago for the restoration project and to add it to my collection. However, due to unforeseen health issues, I have had to abandon the idea, so I am clearing away my collection at this point.

When I purchased the radio it had a major humming noise when tested.

Cosmetically, it is complete and in good condition, even Tenite bezel is complete and in very good condition. Please see the pictures.

Cabinet varnish has to be refinished.

With asking price of $375, I will also throw in the all the tubes I collected for this radio over the years for restoration purposes.

This is available for pick-up ONLY from M9V 1K6 and please bring help with you for lifting the radio. I will be unable to help as I cannot lift weights due to my health condition, thank you for your understanding.

it’s nice! Mukerjea didn’t point it out but I believe this radio had electric pushbutton tuning. I have one similar here in Vancouver. It sounds nice compared to a lot of others of the era. I bought mine in working condition and the bezel is OK but he’s right, they are often broken from shrinkage.
