Good day all. I’m completely new to this site and thanks for having me. I am interested in mostly AM transistor radios and currently own 5 different models and makes. Unfortunately I don’t have much knowledge as to how to trouble shoot or repair any of them.
If anyone knows of a reputable repair shop in Alberta , or anywhere in Canada for that matter. Please pass the contact info on to me please.

Hi. The Edmonton chapter has made a video, “2010-4 BasicTransistor Radio Repair“, that would be a good starting point. There are some club members in Edmonton that could help you out as well. I’ll PM you with a name or two.

My understanding is that there is someone in Edmonton that repairs transistor radios- if anyone knows this person and has contact info, that would be appreciated

I have a couple of radios personally using for years now giving headaches. The bush transistor radio with BF 194B, BF195C, BF195D transistors which are tested out from the circuit and ok. I’ve checked every component in a pcb but no MW. SW1 SW2 reception at all. No AM noise either but cassette, aux in works fine. Checked the transistor voltage that also ok but no radio reception. Next Philips stereo radio using TEA5711T IC. FM working fine but no MW, SW1, SW2 similar to the bush. Checked the pin voltage of the IC and they are ok according to the datasheet and replaced all bad capacitors with Rubycon ones. Still no AM reception. Checked the band selector sliding switch for any open or contact resistance. I need to fix these two radios please help me.
