First post. 🙂
This is my 1948 Stromberg Carlson 863 which as made in Toronto, Ontario. I picked it up at a thrift store for $45 CDN. It needed only power filter caps to work. The AM and Aux. work perfectly. The magic eye, as is usual with such tubes, has expired but still puts out a faint green glow. I don’t care much about SW, so I haven’t even tried getting it to work. It puts out 8W apparently and has a 12″ speaker that sounds beautiful (no rattling or clipping).
I’m thinking that the doll tuning the radio is Canadian-made as well (she has no identification markings, so I’m still trying to find out). She is from the mid 60s.
Thought I’d share. Thanks for reading.
