I have a 1946 Canadian RCA model VR-245 Globetrotter that i am attempting to restore. The power transformer is a 25 cycle transformer and needs to be replaced to a 60cycle transformer. there are no markings to identify part numbers or replacement data. can anyone help me by identifying a replacement transformer?

    Hello Bill

    Is your power transformer cooked?

If not, a 25 Hertz transformer will work just fine on a 60 Hertz power source, but the contrary would not work well.

    It is cooked.
I measured the resistance of the windings and they are no where near what they should be.

The transformer has also leaked tar into the chassis.

It is not a big unit, 4 tubes on 6 volts and a 5Y4. You could get rid of the 5Y4 by replacing it with a solid state 1N4007, then find a small donor or buy new Hammond from their classic line 263 or 269.
