Ed KrausharCVRS MemberI had the impression that 2X3 rectifier tubes for Rogers radios were scarce. Silly me. I have had two NIB ones on Ebay for a week with no bids and only two watchers. The auction is over, and not to be re-listed.

Bob MasseForum ParticipantEd,
Apparently they are looking for a particular brand. I would have bid on yours but I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t checked the eBay listings.

kuzzyForum ParticipantI agree with Bob. If I had of seen them, I too would have bid, but I haven’t been on the Bay much lately due to my schedule around here. Hard to believe no one bid on them.

Eric StrasenForum ParticipantI thought Rogers was the only maker of 2X3 tubes, although they may be branded otherwise.
I have two N.O.S./N.I.B. examples — one Rogers and the other Philco-branded (no doubt made by Rogers). I bought them from a vendor in Florida a couple years back when I scored a Rogers-Majestic table radio on the ‘bay. I paid $25 each for the tubes.
Turns out the ones in the radio were fine, but I’m holding on to the spares just in case…

CVRS MemberI have a couple of Rogers radio that use those tubes and like the rest I would have bid on them. What I
really need is a couple of Rogers 6F’7s.December 7, 2013 at 8:52 am #5282
Eric StrasenForum ParticipantThe one Rogers spray shield tube for my Rogers-Majestic I have found to be unobtainable in working condition is the 6A7M. Fortunately, a 6A8G with a Goat shield will substitute just fine.

Eric StrasenForum ParticipantPerhaps CVRS should create a forum specifically for weird Rogers tubes.

KeymasterWhat about a forum called Radio Tubes to include all tube talk, and if you want we could create sub-forums for specialty items?

Eric StrasenForum ParticipantDon,
Sounds good to me.
A good topic for discussion might be spray shield tubes and who was first with them — Rogers or Grigsby-Grunow.

CVRS MemberGood. I’ll do it now. I’ll create a forum in Forum Lounges called Tube Talk to cover tubes generally, then you can start any topics on tubes you wish within that forum. I’ll also move this topic (and any others on tubes already existing) to that forum. Thanks for the suggestion, Eric. Good idea!
