    I recently bought an HP 1707B service scope and I’ve found that there appears to be a board missing in the power section. Does anyone have one of these scopes? There are two sockets on the power supply motherboard – labelled XA1 and XA2 – in my scope there is no board in the XA2 socket.

    I got a copy of the manual but the way the book is laid out and the nature of scope wiring has made tracing difficult. Rather than spend a lot of time tracing, I’m hoping some kind soul who has one can tell me if I need a board before I attempt to fix the scope.

    Some more circuit tracing has led me to the conclusion that Board A3A3 Line Rectifier and Filter is missing from the power supply cage. It should be connected to board A3A2 Low Voltage Converter Assembly.

    Anyone know of someone who might have an HP 1710a parts scope for sale or even this single board?

    Such is the joy of buying unknown devices on e-bay.
