Online Lecture by Dr. Michael Windover “Retailing Radio: How the T. Eaton Company Sold the Idea of Radio in 1920s-1930s Canada”

October 20, 2022 @ 7:00 pm EDT

Ornamentum magazine have organized an online lecture by Dr. Michael Windover.  The lecture will take place online on October 20th at 7pm EDT.  The lecture will look especially at radio catalogues produced by the retailer as visual evidence of how the new medium was imagined and sold to Canadian public.  Dr. Michael Windover is Associate Professor and Head of Art & Architectural History at Carleton University and Adjunct Curator of design at Ingenium: Canada's Museums of Science and Innovation.  He is a historian of modern architecture, design, and material culture, with particular interests in the intersections of architecture with other media and intimate spaces of public culture.  If anyone is interested in ‘tuning in’ to this lecture, please register here.  Note: the CVRS have no commercial or other interest in this lecture other than bringing it to the attention of our members who may be interested in the topic.
