Let me start by saying I know nothing. I am trying to get the radio on this unit working. It used to work but once everything warmed up the sound would cut out. I found an online tube supplier who had all the tubes required for it so I replaced them all. Now the sound has no volume. I can hear sound but it is very faint and the volume control does nothing. Is there anybody out there who can work on this in the Calgary area?
Chances are the tubes – or least most of them – weren’t the problem. The capacitors, especially the electrolytic ones and the paper/wax capacitors would be the first thing to replace. You could do more damage by trying to run the radio if a capacitor has failed.
I can give you a hand with this radio, BUT I cant find anyone’s email or send a personal message on this forum.
I live in Calgary and would be happy to help you out.
