Hi – I’m looking for a source for the oversized dial lights that were used in many Rogers ,Majestic and Deforest radios in 1937-39 sets.
They are bigger than the regular 6.3 volt dial lights .Rogers part number for them appears to be 13857 and they are listed as 6.3 v 5 C.P. (candle power ?)
Any help would be appreciated – the closest I see is here https://www.antiqueradiolamps.com/catalo … logo11.htm
    the type 81 is close – at 6.5 volts @1.06 amps and 6 c.p. its a G-6 bulb and a single contact bayonet base . – I’m thinking that’s the best I can get ??

You might try Bulbs Direct. They are located in Rochester New York and they carry a large selection of miniature Bulbs. You will have to Google Direct Bulbs and find it by that method.

I’ve been using night lights that can be bought at the dollar store. You can get them in clear and white. Proper voltage and look. Four for a dollar. Work perfectly.

Oops, didn’t see you needed a bayonet base. These won’t work then.

Hi, I checked the few "FAt" bulbs that I have. They are all GE 1471, 12 volts @ 0.26 amps.

I went to the Michigan meet and picked up some bulbs from BOB – he always has a great selection of bulbs, fuses and capacitors – haven’t tried them yet – they are rated in CP instead of current – so we’ll see just how much current they draw – might make the transformer a little warmer.
