I found this one on Kijiji a few days ago… it is a model 61723, but it took me a while to find out that is also is a model 61-T. The seller said it worked.. someone had been in there and changed the electrolytic caps.. the schematics calls for two 8 MF caps and they had put in two 30 MF caps.. it is all recapped and playing now.. I still have to do an alignment and the cabinet..
Congratulations, you did a beautiful job. I have a few SC radios waiting for restoration (I love SC radios) and I happen to have the table top model version of your radio. You need the original tuning knob to hide the screw of the band selector lever and I was very lucky to find one. Note that the two plastic knobs don’t belong to that radio. I also included a photo of a floor model using the same knobs (maybe my most desirable radio).
After looking at your photos of your radio I realized that I do have that center knob.. I don’t know how I missed it when I was going through my knobs. Before I found it I had cut an old tone control shaft and used JB weld to lengthen the center shaft
so my new knob would fit … Now I am going to take it all apart and put in the right knob.
Thanks for the photos and information. I will post photos when it is done right.
