    Someone donated two old microphones to our local Habitat for Humanity Chapter to be sold so the proceeds could help build homes. I was asked to look into the values since I’m interested in tube radios. I suspect there’s a pretty slim market for these. I’ve seen some listed on ebay and we’ll probably try selling them that way. I’m just posting these in case anyone here has something to say about these or knows some potential buyers.

    Northern Electric 600-A
    Altec 639 A with three pickup pattern switch (CDR) with Type 442 connector.

    Les,

    the Northern Electric microphone would surely look good on one of my shelves. On top of that it was most probably made here in Montreal. Any idea of its potential value ?

    Hi again Les,

    after a bit of research, what you have there is the carbon cell of the Northen Electric model 1B microphone. It has been mounted on a custom made frame for display.
