How do I open up an RCA Victor All Transistor Alarm Clock Radio Six 6 GP 628C?

Hello folks,

I’m new to the forum but have had a long love affair with the old transistor radios, especially the portable/handheld ones. I recently acquired a beautiful RCA Victor All Transistor Alarm Clock Radio Six 6 GP 628C (portable). The problem is I don’t find an obvious way to open it. I think maybe levering it via the slots on each side but I don’t want to try in case I break it.

I have only been able to find a few pics of it via Google and the one site I found references to it they have pics of it open but none of how to open it. 🙂 I also haven’t been able to find a manual for it. Pic is attached.
