I pulled the radio out of my 66 volvo. the radio would be of about that era. It is a transister set.
I know nothing about transistor sets, but thought maybe if I give it a recap it wouldn’t hurt.
it works but has lousy sensitivity and sound. probably needs a good cleaning.

It won’t help the volvo, but I have an official 1933 national union auto radio service manual.
It covers some early maker US models. It shows you how to install the antenna into the cloth top on your car:)

    Did you try Tech preservation?

Thank you Robert. I had a look there, good to know they do have some car radios, I don’t see one from Volvo, and I need to figure out which box I put the radio in so I can look for a label. I will post back her when I locate the radio to see if I can identify it further.

Have you tried Dave’s selection at "Just Radio’s" ? He lists Volvo’s under his Vintage Car Section. I got a Schematic for my 71 Riv 8 track/radio from him. Gord

Thanks Gord. It does look like they have the schematic. as it turned out I made a post in one of the Volvo Forums and was provided the schematic for a Bendix and a Motorola radio. I think mine is the Motorola and the correct one for the model year would be a Bendix. Looks like I am set.
