CVRS MemberYes thanks but what I see on Amazon is 10 bulbs for $30.00, I’m hoping to find two for less money. Did you see a smaller quantity?

CVRS MemberHi Lee,
I have been buying dial bulbs from Sal’s in the US (much cheaper!) – he only advertises a limited selection but he went out of his way to source other types for me. Of course shipping and fx rates push up the price, especially if that is all you would be ordering (I tagged the bulbs and some other stuff onto a capacitor order).Gerry

KeymasterLocally, Amre supply has a reasonable selection of bulbs of this nature:

CVRS MemberFirst I’ve heard of Amre and only an hours drive. Often in Hamilton for medical stuff so a great to know, thanks.
I buy from Sal’s too so can do the add on. I keep a list of need to buy at my work bench and send it off when shipping is justified. Thanks guys!

CVRS MemberYikes – AMRE are cheap for the bulbs but the shipping is a killer unless your buying quite a few! – “AMRE Supply offers a standard shipping charge of $15.99 per order to all provinces in Canada and $59.99 to all territories in Canada”. Good to know there is a Canadian supplier though.

Forum ParticipantLets see.
An hour’s drive so say 90 kilometers. if you can get by with 10 liters per hundred kilometers thats about 18 liters round trip at $2.00 a liter that’s $36.00 ??????????

CVRS MemberJohn — that’s why I would only go when we are going for a medical test. I may browse some of the antique markets and see a donor radio with these bulbs and score some other parts to make it worthwhile.

CVRS MemberI can suggest go to aliexpress to find cheap incandescent bulbs or find the LED replacements there too ,( screw base or bayonet ) it will save burning the dial plate ….

Forum ParticipantHello Lee
Sayel Electronics here in Ontario, there use to be one in Barrie, but it closed down. When I am in the area, I go in to the Sayal Store in Vaughn. So far I have been able to get all the bulbs I need. They seem to have a better selection of bulbs in their stores than they show on-line. Usually less than $2.00 each. The ones I usually get were of the 6.3 Volt variety (screw or bayonet). Also the 24-28 Volt type used on the tuning dials of some Majestic, Rogers and Deforest Crosley sets. They have stores in Toronto, Burlington, Cambridge, Markham, Mississauga and Vaughn. See locations on-line. Lots of other things of interest, including, resistors, capacitors, hook-up and winding wire as well as tools andsoldering supplies, etc. etc.

CVRS MemberRalph, never ceases to amaze me. I think I have found every supplier around then a golden store like Sayal shows up. And only an hour and 10 minutes from me. Drop the wife off at IKEA then in my glory. Thanks a bunch.
