I spent today in a remote Manitoba campground not far from the North Dakota border. Except for one camper, we had the entire park to ourselves. Many of the trees (oak for instance) have already lost their leaves – but others have turned a variety of colors. In Brandon (70 miles from the border) our streets are pretty-well tree lined and most trees (elms, ash, poplars, to name a few) have pretty well turned gold, red, etc. The weather for the last few days has been fantastic and on the way home many farmers, who have been cursed for the last few weeks by an over-abundance of rain, are combining like mad.
