D’ruthers, right, John! That describes it. My grandmother (who grew up in NB) used that term along with “dasn’t”. As in: I confess to feeling admiration (guilt?) when I see the summer accomplishments posted by Dan, but given the view from the deck of our new home (photo posted in my defence), I found I d’ruther spend the entire season sitting there – even if I dasn’t. 🙂
