Hi Scotinsy

The MCC is a great organization that does great work. When I lived in the Kitchener/New Hamburg area I use to visit your spring fund -raising sales. However when it comes to marketing a specific item, such as a Vintage Radio, it may be hard to come up with a fair an asking price for such an item. If you tag it with a low price it may sell fast, depending on your cliental. Tag it too high, it may sit for some time. From my perspective, and I only speak for myself, the reason most buyers, as do I, go to Thrift Stores and the like, is because they like a bargin it’s what makes their day. As they say, ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’… some may like it others may despise it.

No question, this Music Box is unique, and I’ve seen some for sale, on-line that have been completely restored that do not seem to garner a lot of interest or attention or high prices. The one you have looks as though it may need a lot of work put into it. as to restoration, There are those, such as most hobbyists on this site who for the most part would pick it up and be willing to put many hours into its restoration. Ask what you think it might be worth, the worst thing that could happen is that you may have to haggle with an interested buyer for a lower price. Post the address of you store here, it may bring those who may have an interest in this set, through your door.

When you first come to this sites home page, there is an article link near the top right corner of the page entitled ‘What’s my old radio worth’? It pretty well covers the subject we are discussing. It may give you some thoughts how to go about it.

Regards

Ralph
