Hi Ralph Spracklin. I was puzzled too, I seen where you had replied but nothing else, left me wondering. And I never receive notices of follow-up replies. Not complaining, I really like this forum.
I like your ideas, I had not thought of using wood but it sounds a lot easier than molds and castings, especially for the bezels. Here is a picture of the springs.
