Just an update on this radio….
I have the chassis all done , and I have the new belt installed, and the radio has very good sound.
They tell me that with the combination of tone buttons, that there are 64 different combinations of tone you can hear.
I had to replace one side panel at the top , but it matches very well

Here are some photos of the cabinet. I have stripped it and applied grain filler,[quite a job].
The grain filler I used is ”Timber Mate’, and I find it is very good. You can get it in different shades BUT it does take the stain’
I bought the grain filler at Home hardware.
Next is sanding down the grain filler; staining and then the toned lacquer.
I will post more photos as I go along in case anyone is interested.
